Dairyland Trail Plans Move Forward
02/01/2012 - 10:00 AM
Stearns County Parks Department says it will move forward with plans for construction of the Dairyland Trail. The 26-mile Dairyland Trail would run through western Stearns County from Albany to Brooten, connecting with the Lake Wobegon Trail in Albany on a former rail corridor.
The trail will be used for biking, hiking, and possibly game bird hunting. An aggregate surface will cover the corridor, allowing it to be the 1st trail in Stearns County able to accommodate horseback riding. Construction of the first segment of the trail is set to begin in March or April.
